"Bokashi" is a traditional, very difficult to produce color gradient on the damask fabrics of Japanese kimonos. This applies in particular to the color blue in its intensities and shades from deep dark blue almost to black to the final transition to white. The work "Cyan 1" is a reminiscence of this tradition, combined with a partially three-dimensional surface structure that gives the work additional color nuances depending on the direction and intensity of the light.
